When I was a little boy, the Euromast was one of the well known sightseeing destinations. Along with the Scheveningen Pier, the Evoluon and the Afsluitdijk.
Sitting right on top of the Maastunnel, the tower was Rotterdam’s landmark, much like many of the Atomium is for Brussels and the Eifel Tower for Paris. The restaurant halfway the tower, and the rotating lift towards the top were considered a very special high tech must see.
Today the Scheveningen Pier is closed, and much like the other destinations the Euromast is considered something from a different era. But just look at the views!
