Bikini Berlin is a former factory built between 1955 and 1957 which has been turned into a concept mall containing a collection of compatible boutiques, concept and flagship stores, coffee and juice bars and restaurants. Its name refers to the former functional separation between the top and bottom floors of the building. The womens wear production factory used to be situated in the upper three floors, while the bottom floors were reserved for fashion shops.
Situated next to the Zoologischer Garten the tall glass rear wall of the main hall offers a view on the Berlin Zoo monkey rock. The interesting architectural space also reserves space for exhibitions and popup stores, which seems like a smart idea to prevent floor area vacancy while providing a guarantee for offering uptodate collections and trends.
